The PRU is responsible for everything related to public relations. The Public Information Officer serves as the primary spokesperson for the department and is responsible for releases of information to both news and social media. The Public Affairs Officer is the coordinator for the BAPD Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA), Master’s CPA, and Spanish CPA. The Crime Prevention Specialist/Community Liaison coordinates certain public events and collaborates with many businesses and non-profit organizations in Broken Arrow to assist them with Crime Prevention efforts. Our employees engage citizens in multiple platforms, functions, and presentations in order to facilitate relations between police and the public. This has improved communication and cooperation with the public and has enhanced efforts of crime prevention, public relations, and the investigations of crime.
