The Broken Arrow Fire Department is the recipient of the Saint Francis Hospital Trauma Institute's C.T. Thompson Award for Excellence in Trauma Care.

“We're honored to receive the C.T. Thompson award,” said Jeremy Moore, Broken Arrow Fire Chief. “We strive to bring the highest quality of service and care to our citizens and it's wonderful to be recognized by Saint Francis for our efforts.”
The C.T. Thompson Award for Excellence in Trauma Care is given to individuals who contributed to the care of a patient whose case exemplifies the skill, dedication, compassion and teamwork which shows trauma care at its best.

“If you were critically injured you would want the EMS crew that responded to help you to be knowledgeable, capable, and caring,” said Phyllis Grady, Trauma Nurse Clinician at Saint Francis Hospital. “We chose Broken Arrow Fire Department EMS because their medics consistently demonstrate those characteristics. The high standards at which they perform and the overall treatment of their trauma patients has a profound positive effect on the patient’s outcome.”

BAFD manages the largest fire-based EMS in Oklahoma and is responsible for six EMS units that serve almost 108,000 people in a 105 square mile area. In the last 12 months, 77 percent of the Fire Department’s calls were EMS related.
