Community Forum Focuses on Economic Development in South BA

The City of Broken Arrow will host a community forum to discuss economic development activity and recruitment efforts in the southern part of town, as well as infrastructure upgrades the City has made to encourage private developers to invest in the area.

The forum is being held in response to citizen concerns about the imbalance of retail stores and restaurants in different parts of the City.

“We are excited for the opportunity to let residents in the south part of the City know what has been done to prepare the area for growth, and what we are doing to entice retail stores and restaurants to the area,” said City Manager Michael Spurgeon. “This includes improvements we have already made to streets and intersections, like that at Aspen and the Creek Turnpike. We invite anyone who lives in this area to join us, ask questions and give us your input about the future.”

The forum is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22 at South Broken Arrow Baptist Church, 7815 S. Elm Pl. City staff will be available to answer questions.
